WBCR is in desperate need of volunteers! If you can help, please contact WBCR via e-mail, through our website or by phone at (307) 436-5458. Many people are not aware of all of the work done by volunteers who give of their time to Wyoming Border Collie Rescue. We do it out of love for the breed and a dedication to help eradicate the widespread overpopulation of dogs. And, we do it along with full-time jobs, family responsibilities, and our own pets that need care and attention.
WBCR needs volunteers who can serve in all capacities -- from home visits, manning booths, answering e-mails, evaluating dogs, taking pictures of dogs, to fostering. There is no job more important than another. While fostering is our most urgent need, it is not the only way you can help WBCR. We need people all over Wyoming as well as in surrounding states to do home visits evaluating potential adoptive homes. Volunteers are needed to evaluate dogs that are being relinquished by their owners, or found in shelters. This requires being able to judge a dog’s temperament, understanding Border Collies, and recognizing which dogs are adoptable.
So, why volunteer? WBCR volunteers do one or more of the tasks above for two reasons: 1) each of us truly loves our Border Collies and 2) each of us knows there are too many Border Collies already and not enough volunteers to save them all. Sometimes there are seven (7) or more different people involved with the rescue and placement of a single dog. Not one link in that chain is expendable.
If you would like to be a volunteer for WBCR, we’d love to have you! Please complete the on-line application below and a WBCR representative will contact you.*
We thank you in advance for your interest in helping out these wonderful dogs!
Note: By submitting this form to WBCR, your e-mail address will be added to our Volunteer Mailing List. As needed, WBCR will send out e-mails to those on the Volunteer Mailing List to solicit your help.
