"Lefty" -- adopted July 2010

Meet Lefty! This handsome young fella galloped right into rescue - and directly into our hearts!! Lefty is a liver and white purebred who greets each new day with excitement and a little song, too, and sometimes when he's all fired up he'll spin circles - to the left, of course (hence the name)! With a winning personality and zest for life, it's hard to resist Lefty – his enthusiasm is contagious!

Lefty is an outgoing and confident young lad who enjoys people and has never known a stranger - human or canine! Yes, he's great with people and other dogs, too, and playing with his doggy friends tops his list of favorites. He plays well with other dogs...in fact, he would play 24/7 if he could find a willing playmate! He loves to wrestle and chase other dogs, and really talks up a storm when he plays. He loves toys (but doesn't fetch) and is a little herdy. Lefty is a high energy kinda guy who is quick, agile, and athletic. He enjoys hiking and running, and we think he'd make a great dog sport candidate as well.

Lefty came to WBCR as an owner surrender, and it's been clear he's been taught some of the basics. He's housetrained and cratetrained, knows how to use a doggy door and has pretty good indoor manners. He can sit and down, and walks pretty well on a leash, too. Lefty still needs to learn a few more skills till he's totally well-mannered, but he's well on his way. With an adopter who has time and energy to devote to continue his training, it shouldn't take long before Lefty has got all the basics down pat.

All in all, Lefty is quite the dog! Oozing with character and brimming with energy, Lefty is going to make the perfect canine companion for a really active family who will be sure to give him an outlet for all that energy - and who will be ready to enjoy a laugh a minute as well! A home with another playful dog is a must for this wonderful red dog, and if there's kids over 6, he'd be OK with that too. Whoever has the good fortune to make Lefty their own will be bringing home a real prize.
