"Stretch" -- adopted August 2008

Stretch (so named because everything is a stretch for him!) is a 5 month old male Australian Shepherd/Corgi mix. His former owners didn't have time for him anymore so were giving him away to anyone who would take him in a pet store parking lot. One of our volunteers saw a herding dog in need, took him home and we’ve made him an honorary Border Collie!

Don't be misled by Stretch’s short little legs – what he’s lacking in height, he makes up for in activity and athleticism. Stretch would make an awesome competition dog - either agility or flyball.

Stretch’s favorite game is ‘Keep Away’ and he’ll regularly grab whatever is handy to get the other dogs in his foster home to chase him. And although he is by far the shortest dog in the house, he can outrun the other dogs with ease! He is also extremely competitive, fearless and plays with dogs much larger than him (think tug of war with a 65-pound foster female!).

Stretch learns quickly, both the good and bad, and, as with most active puppies, will need a home that will direct his energy in positive ways. He is good on leash, enjoys car rides (though currently thinks "load up" means a game of catch-me-if-you-can), is housebroken and crate trained. Stretch is current on vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption.

In short (pun intended), Stretch is a little guy with a BIG fun-loving spirit that will need an active, loving family to keep up with him! Stretch is currently fostered in a loving home in Casper, Wyoming.
