Wyoming Border Collie Rescue is an all-volunteer organization working in and around the beautiful state of Wyoming. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome Border Collies that have been abandoned, neglected or are no longer able to remain in their current home (as space permits). WBCR works hard to place adoptable dogs into appropriate forever homes, making the best match possible between the dog and the adopter(s), and also works to educate the public on the characteristics and needs of Border Collies.
WBCR updates vaccinations and spays or neuters all Border Collies prior to placement. Border Collies are fostered at our homes and evaluated for social habits and activity levels. Applications are required to adopt a Border Collie from WBCR. Once the applicant is approved, the appropriate Border Collie is matched and a visit to the potential home is arranged. Adopted Border Collies are placed with a contract specifying the terms of the adoption.
WBCR is not a facility open to the public, because the dogs are fostered at individuals' homes. Appointments must be made in advance and only AFTER the application and approval process has been completed. Please see our Dogs For Adoption page to see how the adoption process works.
WBCR operates from donations and adoption fees to defray the cost of vet expenses, the time and money expended in foster care, food, phone calls and transports. Most of our volunteers work full-time jobs and foster Border Collies as a true labor of love. Please keep this in mind when you begin the application process. The process may take a week or so to get underway. Please be patient!
